Introduction
The Equal Step Centre is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, which was registered at the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs in 2002. The goal of the organisation is to protect the rights of children from vulnerable families and to support the education, training and development of working children, so that they may become integrated and harmonious citizens.
Since the Equal Step Centre entered the ‘Elimination of Child Prostitution and Trafficking’ (ECPAT) network in 2004, it has taken an active role in tackling trafficking and the selling of girls for sexual purposes. Preventing girls from prostitution and rehabilitating them is an important activity undertaken by our organisation.
In 2006, the Equal Step Centre also became a committed member of the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN).
